| Fiona I have been staying with Fiona and her roommates. One of them is on vacation right now, so there's a little bit of extra room! Fiona is from New Zealand and her roommates are from Australia, and they have been absolutely wonderful! I have been doing what I can, washing dishes, not getting in the way during the morning shower rush etc... I will be moving on later this week, but Fiona & friends have shown me a nice hospitble welcome to Scotland! (Despite none of them actually being Scottish! Arthur's Seat Aruthur's seat is an 823 foor high cliff that overlooks the citry of Edinburgh. Fiona & climbed it! I can tell I'm still a little out of shape since there were old men running up and down the thing. (I had to take breaks every few minutes) At the top it is incredibly cold and wind windy, but the view is great! On the way down we didn't take the path, just decended off the side. We got a few cuts & bruises, but it was more fun and challenging than taking a simple walking path. Dalkeith In 1996 I spent the summer in the Scottish city of Dalkeith, just outside of Edinburgh. We did some work with a local church back then, so yesterday I decided to drop in on them! They were all so wonderful! I spent the afternoon at the Marshall household. We ate soup & bread at 1, chicken, rice, corn & hashbrowns at 1:30, ice cream at 2, candy and cookies at 3, cheese toast & crumpets at 4... and I'm probably forgeting something. It was absolutely wonderful. Once the pictures are added, I'll go into more detail! Edinburgh Today I wandered around the city in the rain. I went to a museum to get some Scottish history, went in St Giles Cathedral, and of course, I called mother to wish her a happy birthday!. |
